MEEPLECON is India’s first and ONLY BOARDGAMING CONVENTION.

MEEPLECON 2018 will be held at Dublin Hall, Phoenix Market City, Kurla, Mumbai – one of the biggest malls in Mumbai. It has a natural footfall of 50000+ on weekends. Since entry is free, apart from the walk-ins that will result due to the mall visitors, we will be targeting 3000+ attendees based on our marketing and publicity campaign, focusing on our unique offering of boardgames from across the world, and its novelty value for the Indian consumers. It is suitable for all ages with a large Family Zone that caters especially for our younger audience.

Our Core audience can broadly be categorised into 2 parts: Families with kids in the age group 4-12 AND educated, adult gamers in the age group 18-45. We will be reaching out to 500+ schools and colleges in Mumbai through The Times of India NIE and Rotaract Clubs for this.

STARTUPS & BOARDGAME DESIGNERS
Are you a game designer that has a new game design in your head or even in physical form? Thinking about attending MEEPLECON but not sure how to proceed? You have a few options now.
A) VISIT MEEPLECON AND DO YOUR RESEARCH.

If your game idea is at a very basic stage and you are not sure how to proceed or if you are very new to the world of games and want to find out more about other games, then just come as a visitor to MEEPLECON. Try out the different game designs, talk to a few designers as well gamers. Your best option will be to buy a FULL DAY PASS.

B) PLAY TEST YOUR GAME

If you have a prototype ready, this will be an excellent opportunity to play test your game. The cheapest approach is to book your game a table in the Play test Zone. You have 3 options:

  • Book a 1 hour slot – Cost Rs. 1000
  • Book a 3 hour slot – Cost Rs. 2000
  • Book a 6 hour slot – Cost Rs. 3500
  • Book a 8 hour slot – Cost Rs. 5000
You are allocated a playtesting table to set up your game. The volunteers will invite visitors to sit down and play your game and give helpful comments. This feedback is a great way to improve your game and this is a crucial stage for all designs.
C) HIRE A STALL

You hire a 3m x 3m starter stand for Rs. 10800. You will also get one demo table along with this. This way you get 1 whole day of attendees trying out your game. In addition, you can sell games from your stand.

D) Host a Tournament or a Scheduled Event for your game

We can include your game as one of the Tournament games or Scheduled Events. This will ensure that your game gets promoted during the event. Please note that you will need to take a stall as an Exhibitor, for your game to be included in the Tournament or Scheduled Events. Also, you will need to send us a copy of the game in advance for us to try it out, so that we can decide whether we want to include it in the Tournament or Scheduled Events. Please note that there is no additional charge for this if you are a Startup or a Game Designer.

Are you a Startup or Game Designer?

There will be more than 100 different games being played at MEEPLECON. In order to make the most of this opportunity, you have to stand out and attract the gamers to try your game.

1. Make the game as good as it can possibly look. Even in the case of a prototype a bit of extra effort can pay dividends. So pay a local printer to print the game board in high resolution. Consider higher quality components etc.

2. The whole stand is part of your display. Consider pull up banners, coming in costume etc. At the very least get some branded T Shirts to promote your game or company.

3. Help the visitor find out more. Make sure you have flyers about the game and business cards to give out.

4. Take along playtest feedback forms for people who play the game to fill in and give you feedback.
